‘Geometric Combos’ — Dive into the mesmerizing world of geometric hoop dance with our "Geometric Combos" workshop, an evolution from the acclaimed "Mandala Madness" at Oasis Hoop Retreat 2023. In this workshop, we will break down several hoop combos, and create a unique group choreography, incorporating shapes and movement to the mandallas we already know! You will leave this class with so many ideas of how to incorporate shapes into your flow, that you will soon level up your play with multi hoops!

Jo is a passionate hula hoop and circus artist based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. With over 6 years of experience in the art of hula hoop, Jo has taken her art to new heights, captivating audiences with her elegance, skill, and creativity.
From her early days exploring the world of hula hoop to becoming a full-time performer in 2020, Jo has honed her technique and developed a distinctive style that blends the grace of movement with the technique of multihooping.
Her performances have illuminated notable events and showcases. In addition to her on-stage accomplishments, Jo shares her love for hula hoop as a teacher, offering classes and workshops that inspire others to discover the magic of this form of artistic expression.
With a focus on the connection between body and tool, Jo invites the audience to immerse themselves in a world of fluid movements, vibrant colors, and contagious energy

Ready to unLOCK some new tricks and combos? Join Miss Hoopdidoo in Pop & Lock it and learn some sassy twin hoop lock inspired moves and combos. Don’t worry, you won’t get all tangled up - we will learn seamless transitions into and out of each combination to give each trick a dance inspired flare. New to hooping? Wonderful! A seasoned pro? Epic! Locks are accessible for all levels. No matter the level, you’ll learn something new and spicy in this class that you can integrate into your flow. Now let’s get hooping!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Amanda Lee aka Misshoopdidoo is a California-based performance artist and international hula hoop instructor. She’s traveled to over 10 different countries and traveled all over America sharing her passion for flow. Amanda’s teaching style is inspirational, upbeat and accessible, with a healthy dose of sass. She is also a trained dancer and loves to weave dance technique into her classes - there is nothing she loves more than inspiring people to feel confident in their bodies while truly dancing with their hula hoop.

‘Twerkshop’ —
In this workshop, you’ll learn the basic fundamentals of twerking. From booty shaking, body rolls, hip, booty and cheek isolation. Twerk moves are broken down step by step to help anyone master the basics. Dependent on comfortability, we will add on more advanced moves including speed, directions, and levels. Bootycentric hoop moves will be showcased as well

Caliana is a New Orleans native, mother, flow artist, festival professional and self proclaimed silly banana! Flow arts changed her life 6 years ago and she hasn’t looked back! Being a body positive Latina, Caliana has has been dismantling performer stereotypes & channeling confidencia in all her performances! Attending Oasis Hoop Retreat in 2022 inspired Caliana to start teaching hoop & twerkshops locally & around the US!

Deven Zimmer, also known as Call Me Alaska, is a hula hoop artist with over 12 years of experience, specializing in dance hooping. Deven's unique style combines dynamic flow with movement, drawing inspiration from dance groups, classes, and trending online dance styles. With a focus on musicality, creativity, and fluidity, Deven has developed an approach to hooping that blends artistry with self-expression. Having taught across the United States, Deven led weekly classes at Gravity LA, a renowned Hollywood dance studio, and has shared her craft at workshops and events nationwide. In addition to teaching, she has appeared in commercials, TV shows such as The Today Show, and performed at major festivals, bringing the joy of hooping to a wide audience. Deven is also the founder of Cerceau Sisters, a circus arts company that produces theatrical performances blending flow, circus arts, and pop culture. Through Cerceau Sisters, Deven enjoyed to explore new creative possibilities, merging the worlds of movement and storytelling to produce immersive and entertaining shows. With a deep passion for empowering others, her mission is to inspire confidence through body movement and the art of flow. She strives to help others find freedom, creativity, and self-expression, one hoop dance at a time.

In this workshop you will be learning everything about ISOLATIONS and MOST importantly how to organically include them in your Hoop Dance .
You will be playing with static and dynamic tricks with different Grips, Planes, Levels and in/on body variations.

Nuria Florencia Perez Toran, also known as Nuria Luna Llena, is a professional hula-hoop artist and instructor originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and currently based in Barcelona. She is known for her teaching style that focuses on sharing tools to create, play, explore and exploit our creativity with the Hula hoop. Both in her classes and in her performances she seeks to capture and express all the power, passion and dedication to this art with the motto: “Hoop your Space. Hoop with your Imagination. Hoop with your Memories. Hoop with your Body and Soul.” Over the last 11 years she has performed and given numerous workshops in Latin America, Europe and virtually all around the world.

'Lost in the Toss’ —
In this workshop you will see different throws step by step, from the most basic form to possible variations to incorporate into our hula hoop routines. In this workshop you will see not only types of throws but also types of "Hand grips" with the hula hoop, the objective is to get out of the comfort zone and experience a little more than hula in the body. Among the benefits of this workshop are: increasing reflexes, basic stimulation to juggle with hula hoops, kinesthetic bodily intelligence etc.

I am a professional circus artist with a rich decade of experience that has taken me to stages and workshops in multiple countries across South, Central, and North America, as well as far-flung corners of Europe such as Germany, Slovenia, and Austria. My unique specialty in hula hoops has been enthusiastically embraced in the training I have imparted, demonstrating the universality of circus art. Currently, I bring my passion and skills to the vibrant circus company in Costa Rica, where I dedicate myself not only to entertain but also to teach. My focus is always on sharing what I am passionate about in as fun and different a way as the disciplines I practice.

The name says it all: in this workshop, we will be learning various types of smears. We will explore smears using two hands, one hand, and even without using hands! Additionally, we will cover techniques for entering and exiting smears. All levels are welcome.

Anna’s hula hoop journey began in 2014; she quickly became obsessed. In 2017, she decided to share her knowledge of hooping with others. Since then, she has taught and performed at hoop retreats across the US and Canada, sharing joy through Instagram and YouTube tutorials. Hooping isn’t just a hobby for Anna; it’s a therapeutic practice. She cherishes every opportunity to share the love that hooping has brought into her life. In her classes, Anna aims to have fun, leaving her students with new tricks to incorporate into their own unique flow.

In this class we will be diving into the world of No Beats and everything they have to offer our flow by going over simple No Beat techniques and executions. Starting with the basic No Beat manipulation, we will be using different planes and patterns to emphasize these moves while finding new pathways within our flow. This class offers something for everyone with beginner to advanced tricks as well as some fresh twin hoop - No Beat variations! welcome.

Brandin AKA Guapoh is a Detroit based flow artist and international instructor who has been practicing and teaching for 9 years within the hula hoop community. The goal of his classes are for everyone to feel included and challenged at the same time while feeling safe enough to learn and explore in a vulnerable environment. Teaching his dynamic moves, everyone is sure to walk away with something new after a class with Guapoh!

'Daily Yoga' —
Our yoga asana practice will be centered around opening our bodies to allow prana (energy) to flow more freely through the body and support our flow practices. Each day we will begin with light breath works, then move through asana practice that will encourage and inspire beginners and challenge seasoned practitioners. This will be followed by relaxation and a short guided meditation.
What you can expect from our sessions together:
1. To hear posture names in both English and Sanskrit
2. To have a deeper understanding of alignment
3. A working knowledge of three styles of breathwork/ pranayama.

Mykah Smith B.S., MPsy., RTY 200
Mykah Smith is Bahamian native who began her journey into mindfulness in 2014. While struggling to survive traumatic grief syndrome and suicidal ideation, she began to see a counselor. Her therapist suggested trying Mindfulness Based Stress reduction as well as Mindfulness based CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy). Through these practices she began to see her way through the darkness. That same year she began to practice yoga asana (postures) consistently. The healing she found in these practices inspired her to pursue her masters in Developmental and Child Psychology with a concentration in Mindfulness based interventions. After obtaining her masters in July 2018 from Lee University, she further pursued her passion for mindful healing by obtaining her yoga teacher certification in December 2018 and is currently registered with Yoga Alliance. To date she has completed over 70 hours of continued educational training in Rocket Yoga, Prenatal & Postpardum Yoga, Sequencing & Anatomy, Hatha, Tantra & Vinyasa. She has also led over 2,000 hours of meditation, breathwork and yoga classes and workshops.
Mykah has long had a deep passion and affinity for health and wellness, particuallary herbalism. The Bahamas has a rich history of traditional medicine and in 2018 Mykah began a two year apprentice under her grandmother to learn the teachings and practices of traditional Bahamain Herbal Medicine. In 2019 she completed several phytochemical and botanist courses to become a certified herbalist. In 2020, just before the pandemic, Mykah began The Last Island Gal brand. She provides Bahamian inspired earth-based healing tools for all. She loves all things health and wellness and is always exploring new avenues to live a healthier, more meaningful and peaceful life.

Lola is a passionate multi-disciplinary artist living on the unceded and illegally occupied territories of the Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam Nation aka (Vancouver, BC , Canada)
Her love of movement came in the form of a Circle, a Hula Hoop. It was there that she first established a space to explore her body, in spiral form.
Her desire to explore & train further spun her straight into the realms of street, contemporary dance, forms of ritual theatrics, stilt dancing, soft acrobatics & clowning.
She aspires to weave stories that are meaningful and vulnerable and push the status quo from the ground up.
With over a decade of performing and facilitating workshops, locally and internationally .
She is energized by her quest in breaking norms and turning heads. While exploring new styles of movement and utilizing them in her quest of self-expression.

Yes, a whole workshop on all the different variations of elbow tricks. In this trick-based workshop, I will teach elbow hooping
combos that include: elbow passes, duck outs and breaks. We will conclude the workshop with my favorite elbow combo- the
R.E.B.E.L - roll, elbow, break, elbow, launch! Open to All Levels.

Ellen started her hoop journey in 2010 and very quickly became OBSESSED. After graduating from film school in Chicago, she
moved to LA and got a job as the Video Content Manager at Hoopnotica, filming hoop tutorials and lifestyle videos. She spent weekends busking in Venice Beach and performing at night clubs and private events with The Hooptown Hotties. She moved back home to Memphis and began teaching intermediate hoop dance at a local studio, helping to build a strong community of hoop dancers and flow artists. Ellen has been performing for over 12 years and can’t wait to share her tips on how to conquer an empty stage, assemble a multi-hoop act and splice in the art of burlesque, circus and drag.
